Jimmy Vernon has been a familiar name in the Australian Motorsport scene since 2012, racing a wide variety of cars and honing his skills in different machinery. What started as a career path in open wheelers, Jimmy made the shift to production based cars where his talent really began to shine. 2017 was a highlight year for Vernon, as he claimed his first National Championship by winning the Toyota 86 Racing Series. After a stint in Porsches, GT cars and Trans-Am cars, Jimmy moved back to production cars to claim his second National Championship in the National Production Cars A1 Class.
After his second National title, Jimmy shifted his focus to the V8 SuperUte Series, where he claimed Rookie of the Year in his first season, claiming multiple top fives and a round podium in his maiden year.
Vernon also introduced a more touching side to his racing career in 2020, where he integrated the Kids with Cancer Foundation into the program to raise money and awareness to sick children in need. The program has been a huge success, with Vernon raising and donating just under $50,000 to the foundation to date. The core focus of the program is to bring sick children and their families to the race track to see the car and have a day of respite from their challenging battle with cancer.
